Ash Green Children’s Centre provides childcare for children aged 0-5 years, where the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is a continual provision throughout the setting.
We have an overall registration of sixty-three places over three sites.
Parents are welcome to come and look around the nursery.

0-2 Years
The 0-2 Room can accommodate fifteen children with a staffing ratio of 1:3. This room is situated in the Old Vicarage behind The Holy Nativity Church on Sunny Bank Road.
2-3 Years
The 2-3 Room can accommodate sixteen children with a staffing ratio of 1:4. This room is situated at Ash Green Lower Site on Mixenden Road.
Daycare in the above rooms is from Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm. The hours of daycare are tailored to suit your needs wherever possible, with anything from one to five mornings/afternoons/days per week up to a maximum fifty hours per week for those requiring full time care.
Each child has a designated key person who ensures the needs of their key children are met. The key person develops and maintains a close working partnership with families and together this ensures their child’s learning and development is fully supported.
Every Ash Green setting extends to a large outdoor area where children can benefit from the many opportunities of outdoor play.
3-5 Years
The 3-5 provision is over two sites (each site is within Ash Green Community Primary School) and runs during term time only.
• Lower Site : Mixenden Road provides childcare from 8am-6pm
• Upper Site : Clough Lane provides childcare from 8.45am-3.30pm
Each site can accommodate sixteen children with a staffing ratio of 1:8 and each has their own 3-5 Years Foundation Unit within the school.
The 3-5 provision is a combination of Early Education Funding (EEF: the government provides fifteen hours free nursery education per week to all children after their third birthday) and Children’s Centre Wrap Care which is tailored, wherever possible, to help those parents requiring childcare over and above the EEF fifteen hours.
During the majority of school holidays, Ash Green Children’s Centre provides a holiday club for all registered 3-5 year olds. This runs from the Lower Site and there are two available sessions: 8am-6pm and 9am-3pm.
